The Ambulantis Group companies operate in six cities in Northern and Eastern Germany, providing comprehensive outpatient nursing care services. People in need of care are supported to lead a self-determined life. This includes the provision of home nursing care and domestic help (according to Social Code Book V - Statutory health insurance) as well as home care (according to Social Code Book XI – statutory long-term care insurance). Nursing care services are provided in the patient's own home, in assisted living facilities, and in nursing care communities. In addition, the Ambulantis Group also operates day care facilities.
Gimv will retain a significant stake in Ambulantis and will continue to strategically develop the group together with Dr. Stefan Buchkremer, Richard Simm, and Dr. Matthias Weber. The transaction is still subject to the usual regulatory approvals and is expected to be closed in the next couple of weeks.
D+B Rechtsanwälte (Dr. Ulrich Grau, Dr. Christian Reuther, Nicole Jesche, Valentin Wende, Dr. Alexander Tietz) advised Gimv on regulatory aspects of the transaction. This concerns regulatory issues arising from the acquisition of shares, in particular in accordance with the provisions of the law on statutory health insurance (Social Code Book V), the law on statutory long-term care insurance (Social Code Book XI), state nursing home laws, and healthcare compliance aspects.
