National Wear Red Day® is inspiring—but in Germany, the issue of women’s heart health needs more attention than ever. Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death among women, and the risk is still underestimated. Women’s hearts beat differently—in terms of symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.
That is why we—in particular Dr. Constanze Püschel and Dr. Christina Deckers—are sponsoring this year’s “GoRed Campaign: Women’s Hearts Beat Differently.”
On average, women wait longer to call 911 in an emergency—often because their symptoms seem vague or are misinterpreted. At the same time, many studies, guidelines, and treatment recommendations are still based predominantly on data from men. This jeopardizes the quality of care for women.
On February 6, 2026, we’re calling on everyone to make a statement on social media by wearing a red accessory or piece of clothing. This creates visibility—and raises awareness for care that can save women’s lives. In 2025, the #GoRed campaign reached over 36 million people—impressive proof of the significant response and the need for education. We want to build on this success in 2026.
